The 12 people that read this know that I am a fan of MMA and have been since UFC 1. I followed the sport when it went ‘underground’ and the internet was the only place to get results. As such you can imagine my excitement when it was announced that CBS was going to cover a live event. Once the card was announced the excitement waned. Come on Elite XC, I understand Kimbo is very popular and he has the magic ‘it’ factor. Articles and interviews about Kimbo in print and video make him very likable. I want him to do well because he could bring huge popularity to the sport. After watching the event I watched the post fight press conference, and even though many of the fights left a sour taste in my mouth and I was very bitter while watching, Kimbo made me laugh. He indeed does have ‘it.’

How I Was Ruined: A Love Story
May 1st, 2008 by Joshua G R · No Comments

Everyone has had it happen. You find a new love. Maybe you are introduced by a friend, family member, or you meet randomly. Very rarely does the butterfly feeling last but for me, this time, it did. For nearly six years I gave the love as good as I got it. It was on 9-9-99 that everything changed.

Day 17 of no Xbox Live…srsly wtf
April 11th, 2008 by Chase R · 3 Comments
There have been a couple developments in my struggle with Microsoft. A supervisor called yesterday, and I was excited. A random operator told me that when the supervisor called me, they would give me a code for a month card and I could simply put it in and have my Xbox Live account at gold status again. Nope. The guy recapped my story for the 5th time, and told me I had his word that someone will get back to me ASAP. I’ve waited ten days, at least, for this phone call and I’ve been told I have to wait 8-10 more. For a month card? That a woman, whose English was bad, obviously screwed up because she couldn’t understand me. So as a result of her fuck up, I’ve waited 17 days and completely missed out on the rest of the Battlefield: Bad Company beta. Thanks, guys. [Read more →]

This is getting akward
April 11th, 2008 by Joshua G R · No Comments
I believe, no, I know I am in love.
Something started to tingle, a twitch in my heart, mind went haywire, then everything came into focus. Things were so clear. I had found, TRUE LOVE!

We’re through, Microsoft.
April 9th, 2008 by Chase R · No Comments
I talked to one of the operators for Xbox Live about 5 days ago. This woman told me that they had removed the month card from my account, and that I could simply reactivate it. I hung up, tried it, and no dice.
So I called yet again, on the very next day. It was a guy this time. He told me that they had handed my problem to a “crack team of Xbox Live people”. They’re supposedly the best of the best. He told me they should talk to me by the 7th. Since my account’s been shut down since the 27th. I think he meant a “team of crackheads freebasing in an alley behind the Xbox Live offices”.
Because the fuckwits still have yet to contact me.
I work at Gamestop, and sadly, when people asked me who had the best support- I said Microsoft. I’ve never had problems- even when my 360 red ringed on me the week Halo 3 came out. But this is some serious bullshit they are pulling. How fucking hard is it to reactivate a month card? I’m sick of this shit. Fuck these guys, I’m buying a PS3. I feel like trading all my games and everything in.

And they say (b)romance is dead
April 3rd, 2008 by Joshua G R · 1 Comment

I have heard people say that romance is dead. Whenever I hear about romance being dead it usually has something to do with a fella not doing something. Opening doors, pouring her wine first, or something else. I am hear to tell you that while romance may be waning it is not all together dead. The romance I speak of has to do between fellas and here at the PGL we loving refer to it as bromance.

Rock Band gets “Still Alive” from Portal
April 1st, 2008 by Chase R · No Comments
K, great. That song was cool 3 months ago. Now, it makes me want to stab my earholes with paper clips/shish kabob skewers. Good job staying on the pulse of what’s cool, Harmonix.
The best part, however, is that this is free. High five, all 2 people that read this! We can all play together.

Day 5 of No Xbox Live….
April 1st, 2008 by Chase R · No Comments
Oh God. They were supposed to give me the month back…never did…I probably got the refund, I don’t know. But yeah. This is turning into the fucking situation from hell, man. I don’t understand how they could fuck this up this badly.
*sigh*

Day 2 of no Xbox live: a development
March 28th, 2008 by Chase R · No Comments
So a guy from Microsoft called me around 11 today for a terse conversation about my “mistakenly canceled” account. He confirmed all my info, my gamertag, and then told me they’d make up for the time I’d lost. My account isn’t active, still, but that was needlessly cryptic of him. Maybe they’ll send me something cool in the mail. Nothing that explodes.
Obviously, Microsoft read my previous post. He was an American dude. And he called in less than 24 hours. About 48 hours early. Seem a bit strange to you guys, too?

Microsoft, I am beginning to hate you.
March 27th, 2008 by Chase R · 3 Comments
I’d like to think I’ve been lucky when it came to Microsoft products. My PC got the service pack 1 for Vista Ultimate. Unreal Tournament III is running smoother than before. So is Team Fortress 2. But XBox Live is something we need to discuss here. Because I went through a pretty shitty experience this morning that further solidifies my case against outsourcing. [Read more →]
