My birthday is in November. While I attempt to save money to upgrade my PC, a shit ton of games release at the same time. This year, I couldn’t hold my cash in my pocket any longer. I spent it. Since I did, I can tell you something about all the big releases. So I will take this time to do so…after the jump.
Mass Effect - By far my favorite game on this list. There’s a lot to do, a group of amazingly written characters, and boner inducing visuals. It’s perfect and everyone with an XBOX360 should own it. Ask for it for Christmas or buy it immediately.
Assassin’s Creed - A good game. The graphics and badass-ness of the hero actually sell the game. The structure itself is repetitive. It’s fun the first time or two. But you have to kill 9 guys the same fucking way over and over again. Who the fuck cares if it’s in a different city? It’s still the same shit.
Call of Duty 4 - Amazing single player campaign with a multiplayer that will keep you occupied for ages. It gives Halo 3 a run for its money. Seriously. I love this game, I just have other shit to play at the same time.
Rock Band - With a new guitar that doesn’t click when you play a note, you know they were thinking about people who wanted to act like they were playing a REAL guitar. You don’t time your song to huge circles, you
time them to tiny lines. The game itself is amazing. Drums are hard and make my brain hurt, but that shouldn’t detract from how badass the songs are. The customization of your character is in depth, and the song packs on XBL are fucking AWESOME.
Guitar Hero III - A good entry for the series, it doesn’t do anything different. The difficulty curve is higher, so if you’ve never played Guitar Hero before- III is a bad choice. Start on two and work your way up. BABY STEPS, MOTHERFUCKER.
Kane and Lynch - Not as bad as everyone has painted it out to be. If you have a kid or younger siblings, the language is rough. But who gives a shit, they’ll hear it someday. Might as well start them early. The co-op on this game is awesome. I played it with a buddy for hours and hours at a time. If you have a wide screen TV, and a friend who’s interested in the game, play it through and you’ll thank me. Multiplayer on this is also badass. You’ll have to play through a couple times to get the hang of it…it’s different.
