Guitar Hero is a dandy little game. Full of good times and lots of rockin’. While I love me some Guitar Hero was it worth it to buy Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground for a 5 song demo? The short answer is yes! FUCK YES!
I heard that some unscrupulous knaves were getting this demo off of torrent sites instead of through legal channels. To this, I say, SHAME ON YOU SIR OR MADAM!
The demo contains five songs and all are fun, which is to be expected of the Guitar Hero series, even Activision bought the rights. The songs are: Lay Down by Priestess, Even Flow by Pearl Jam, The Metal by Tenacious D, Hit Me with your Best Shot by Pat Benatar and Rock You like a Hurricane by the Scorpions.
There are no surprises, it is Guitar Hero after all. The game looks much better than Guitar Hero 2 and I often found myself distracted by the animations. At one point I laughed out loud seeing the facial expression of the lead singer belting out The Metal. Without a doubt The Metal is my favorite song on the demo with Rock You like a Hurricane in second.
I was on the fence about buying this game and after the demo the decision to purchase was made. Since Guitar Hero isn’t a day one, gotta have it, type of title, I will wait for this through Game Fly.
P.S. Let me leave you with something to ponder. Why do Asians who love rhythm based games bad mouth Guitar Hero? Leave us ‘Mericans alone and let us be good at ONE RHYTHM GAME!
